As a child, Andrew looked up to his father who owned a small tree service in Maryland and his mother who ran a small herb nursery, selling at farmers markets and landscaping. After college at Warren Wilson in Swannanoa, Andrew worked for the International Society of Arboriculture in the educational goods and services department. After a time in Illinois longing for the mountains, Andrew moved back to Black Mountain, started Wagner Tree Experts, Inc in 2008. Over the years, many challenging projects and experiences around Western North Carolina have shaped the experience and knowledge Andrew brings to every job. Whether its a consultation on new construction or planning renovation of a commercial site or homestead, Andrew has helped many clients make informed decisions about their trees.
David Graham
Born and raised in Wilmington, NC. David enjoys surfing, mountain biking, and relaxing at home with a good book. After working as a crew leader with the SCA building trails and traveling the country, David is settling down in Western NC. David is a natural leader, knowledgable about trees and plants, as well as chainsaw work among many other things, and we are glad to have him and his diverse skill set here at Catawba Tree.
Oliver Armstrong-Davies
Oliver, a recent graduate of Warren Wilson College with a degree in Environmental studies, came to us after spending time on the Tree Crew, part of the College’s Triad of Academics, Work, and Service. Oliver is a great climber, and we look forward to helping him hone his skills.

John is an outdoor enthusiast, and brings joy to every job site. John is a great member of our team and is always happy to talk with customers who are interested in our work.
